EXCELLENCE IN CARE
About Us
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for seniors living in the Louis Brier Home and Hospital, as well as seniors living in the community. The foundation supports a range of programs and services, including recreation therapy, spiritual care, music therapy, and more, to help seniors maintain their independence, dignity, and well-being. The foundation also raises funds to support research and education in the field of geriatric care.
Our History
The Louis Brier Foundation was established in 1978 by a group of volunteers who were committed to improving the quality of life for seniors living in the Louis Brier Home and Hospital. The Louis Brier Home and Hospital was founded in 1946 by a group of Jewish community leaders in Vancouver to provide care for Jewish seniors. Over the years, the home expanded its services to include seniors from all backgrounds and cultures, and the foundation was established to support the home's mission and enhance the care and services provided to seniors. Today, the foundation continues to play a vital role in supporting the Louis Brier Home and Hospital and improving the lives of seniors in the community.
The Case for Support
The Louis Brier Foundation plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for seniors in Vancouver. With an aging population, the demand for services and support for seniors is greater than ever before. By supporting the Louis Brier Foundation, you can make a tangible difference in the lives of seniors, helping to ensure that they receive the care, support, and resources they need to maintain their independence and dignity. Your support can fund critical programs and services, such as recreation therapy, spiritual care, and music therapy, that can significantly improve the well-being of seniors. By making a donation to the Louis Brier Foundation, you can help create a brighter future for seniors in Vancouver and make a lasting impact on their lives.
A Campus of Care
For almost 20 years, the Louis Brier Jewish Aged Foundation has been funding programs and services required by the Louis Brier Home & Hospital and the Weinberg Residence, which supports Assisted Living and Multi-Level Care units.
The Home and Hospital is an aging facility that will require significant renovations or replacement in the coming years. The planning process to envision the future of the Home and Hospital is in its early phases.
